The Maritime Association's 2012 Annual Meeting & Banquet will be in the Marriott Charleston's Crystal Ballroom on Friday, February 10.  A cocktail reception begins at 6:45 p.m., followed by dinner and program at 7:45.  The event will be a celebration of the association's 86 years of service to the maritime transportation industry in South Carolina.  After dinner, the incredible show-band Party on the Moon will perform and accompany dancing til midnight.  The entertainment is sponsored by Container Maintenance Corporation.

      This event, for many years now, has become known as an evening of High Honors, as special recognition is given to deserving individuals in several categories.  For 2012, the following presentations will be made:

          Legislator of the Year - South Carolina Representative James H. Merrill

          Beacon Award - Gitta Wombwell

          Christopher Gadsden Award - Mayor Joseph P. Riley, Jr.
