Urgent Help Needed for Coast Guard Families
Help our heroes when they need it the most.
Thanks to a generous supporter, every dollar
you give will be matched dollar for dollar to
help our brave men and women.
I know you understand the difficult and often dangerous conditions under which Coast Guard members work. This is especially true during the relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey, Irma, and now Maria which is impacting our Coast Guard families in Puerto Rico.
I'm proud to report that our Disaster Relief and Response Fund has so far rushed $475,000 in support to help the Coast Guard families who are suffering the most. But the need is still great, and we are receiving requests for assistance every day.
To help, a generous donor based in Florida has agreed to match every gift we receive online to the Coast Guard Foundation Disaster Relief and Response Fund between September 22 and October 6, up to $50,000 — dollar for dollar! This means your gift now will double in value with no cost to you.
I am in constant communication with the Coast Guard who have expressed their thanks to the Foundation and supporters during this time.
Coast Guard families who were displaced in South Florida are returning to assess the damage this week, and already we are receiving word many have suffered catastrophic damage to their homes. For those based in Puerto Rico, 200 families were evacuated before Hurricane Maria struck and are receiving our assistance while we work to assess the needs of the families who remained on the island.
Please, your gift now to our Disaster Relief and Response Fund will make a huge impact in the lives of these brave men and women and their families where it's needed most as we stand by to rescue the rescuers.
Susan P. Ludwig, President
P.S. Remember, all online donations to our Disaster Relief and Response Fund until October 6 will be matched up to $50,000. Please be as generous as you can.
