SWIM AROUND CHARLESTON

The Swim Around Charleston will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The twelve-mile swim starts at Remley Point on the Wando River, crosses the main shipping channel of Charleston Harbor, and will finish at the General William B. Westmoreland Bridge on the Ashley River.

The Captain of the Port Charleston will enforce a moving safety zone to protect the participants of this event. The safety zone will encompass all waters surrounding participants and safety vessels, extending 50-yards in front, 50-yards behind, and 100-yards on either side. No one shall enter, transit, moor, anchor, or remain within the safety zone unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Charleston or designated representative.

All persons requesting to transit through the safety zone must contact the Coast Guard via VHF-FM channel 16.
