New REO Chassis Depot Opening October 26, 2019
for the Wando Welch Terminal
Beginning October 26, 2019, CCM/South Atlantic Chassis Pool will operate the new REO Chassis Depot for the Wando Welch Terminal (WWT). The new chassis depot will be located outside of the terminal gates, east of the new traffic circle just past the first security gate. See image below.
Motor carriers must establish a provider User ID and Password for www.Chassischoice.com before arriving at the Chassis Depot.
All motor carriers bobtailing into the WWT must visit the REO Chassis Depot if utilizing a pool chassis.

The North Charleston Terminal will not be impacted by this change.

USACE Charleston’s Bethney Ward and GLDD’s Dave Johanson are joint presenting “New Work Dredged Material Brings Life to the Bottom of Charleston Harbor” regarding the successful mitigation and beneficial use reefs constructed offshore as part of Post 45. The dredging 101 short course is a great entry level course for those wanting to learn a little about our industry. Continuing Education credits can be obtained by attending the short course and or the event.

WEDA's Dredging 101 Short Course - view all details
The Dredging 101 Course is being offered by WEDA as part of our mission to share knowledge and information about dredging. Because WEDA is a non-profit organization, with its goal not to make money but to share information, WEDA is offering this course at the very low cost of $50. The course will occur at the Hotel Dupont on Wednesday October 16, 2019 from 1:00-5:00 pm. You can either add this course to your meeting registration or register ONLY for the 101 Course. The Captain of the Port Charleston is establishing a 100-yard moving safety zone around the M/V ZHEN HUA 28 while the vessel is underway, moored, or anchored in the Port of Charleston. The vessel will be transporting gantry cranes. On Wednesday October 16, 2019 the vessel will arrive in port and proceed first to Columbus Street Terminal. On Friday October 18, 2019 the vessel will proceed to the Wando Welch Terminal. On October 28, 2019 the offloading of cranes will be completed.
Entry of vessels or persons into the safety zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port or a designated representative.
